We are thrilled to share our most recent project with you! Our wonderful clients near Lake Wylie needed help furnishing and styling the foyer, kitchen, and great room of their new construction home. By mixing textures and metal finishes we helped them implement a cozy transitional aesthetic with modernized selections within a neutral color way. Read on to see how we achieved an inviting atmosphere with a mix of materials and cozy clean lines.

To cater to the wife's love of mixed metals, we balanced a mix of textures and finishes within the décor accessories. The matte black, polished chrome, and antique bronze add contemporary flair, while the small moments of natural wood provide texture and warmth. To continue with the modern aesthetic, we made sure to select wood pieces with crisp clean lines or funky shapes. Regardless of style, one thing will forever remain true; the warmth of wood finishes instantly provides a cozy element within a space.
This breakfast nook is small in scale, so for added drama and interest we painted the barn door a contrasting color, Sherwin Williams Inkwell. What was once flat and uninteresting instantly became a strong focal for this corner of the room. The fun lines and mix of textures within the furniture selections speak to the desired contemporary style.
The traditional gingham pattern in the custom drapery adds a fun, unexpected detail enhancing the casual lifestyle of these homeowners. These panels are beautiful, and highly functional. We implemented a ripple fold pleat so the panels fully extend covering the entire window. This helps block out the unwanted piercing light from the evening sunset.
The entry of a home is very important because it introduces guests to your lifestyle and design aesthetic. Again, we were working with a narrow space; therefore, we mixed patterns, color, and texture within low profile furnishings to add personality. These fun accent chairs were the perfect compliment to the console table custom built for these homeowners.
The finishing touches within the great room really brought this project to life! We love the fun, breathable layers throughout this room. We kept the foundation of the room neutral, and added additional warmth with the bold oversized wall art and leather accent chairs. We continued shades of blue across the room to compliment the existing custom benches flanking the fireplace.
The floor to ceiling window treatments draw the eye up bringing attention to the ceiling details. They instantly elevate this room into a cozy inviting space. The abstract wall art and modernized accessories compliment the contemporary aesthetic throughout this transitional home. We greatly enjoyed working on this project. These clients were incredibly graceful and patient through it all, and we feel blessed for now knowing them.
